We met Richard and Yvonne when they arrived in Montmorency. Their old friends the Longtons and Mitchams introduced them into our family group. We shared many good times and bonded over Subarus.
Richard was such a lovely man, always good company.

Further to our previous Tribute, it was a wonderful TEN days you visited us in Auckland. Your love and humor with us forever. So kind, gentle and thoughtful. Big hugs Richard

Our wonderfull friendship with Richard and Yvonne began with our first visit to Melbourne in 2001. It was at the Casino Restaurant whilst waiting to be served at the buffet. You invited us to sit with you with our meal. From this point we never lost touch. The years you travelled to the Gold Coast, avoiding Melbournes winters, you always contacted us first, ensuring the weeks you travelled enabled us to plan our trip so we could all get together. Truly our friendship would always last. Our subsequent visits to Melbourne, you always welcomed us to your home and took us on tiki g ours around the countryside. You and Tony always discussing cars.
September 2019 was a highlight for us when Richard came across to see us for two days. A memorable visit, full of laughs and memories. Even though this was the last time we saw each other our friendship continued with phone calls. We will miss you Richard,

You were a true gentleman and very kind person Richard. I will miss seeing you and your friendly smiles. The meaningful conversations we had about the life you have lived and great stories you shared will always stay with me when I remember you.

Richard was a beautiful person. I regret not visiting him when I was able to use my car. As my neighbour in Huntley Street, he would let me know if I left my car lights on! One day he even showed me how better to drive in and out of my driveway. In the nicest helpful manner! When he and Yvonne moved to Montmorency, he soon made contact as Dennis and I attended the then Montmorency Uniting Church (St Andrews) and he would call in en route to the shops! Just to say hello.
